Parana Business Collection showcases production of Southern Brazil
Last week the capital of Parana hosted the best of local fashion during the event Parana Business Collection. The shows featured the Spring/Summer-2013 collections of 21 brands. Among the highlights of the program, was the designer Jefferson Kullig, who also takes part in the Sao Paulo Fashion Week. From Parana, he has a studio and a shop at the charming neighborhood of Batel-Soho. Kullig caught the attention of journalist Gabriela Fortunato, from Argentinean TV show “Collections TV”.

Gabriela attended the event as an invited guest of Texbrasil (Brazilian Fashion Industry’s Exports Program, an initiative of Abit in partnership with Apex-Brasil), and she recorded an exclusive interview with the designer, in which they spoke about fashion, style and sustainability – the theme of his collection.

Apart from carefully watching all of the shows presented by brands such as Docthos, Cyntia Fontanella, Camoa Brasil and Lafort, Gabriela also got to know the hotspots of the city, and paid a visit to designers from the capital’s scene. “Curitiba is a beautiful city that has a fantastic infrastructure and, of course, a creative fashion industry”, commented the journalist, who was enchanted by one of the top local artists (Poty) after seeing his works at the Oscar Niemeyer Museum.

Poty was also the theme of the fashion show presented by Luan Gustavo Rodrigues (student of the post-graduation course “Fashion and Management” offered by Senai/PR), who won the IX Joao Turin Award, which aims at encouraging new designers. With the same goal, the Ideia Moda (or “Fashion Idea”) event took place on Saturday. This is a project that started in 2011, and presented in this edition the works created by ten professionals. The event also included the 11th Fashion Updating Cycle, which was attended by renowned speakers such as designer Fernanda Yamamoto.
